Located in the ‘Golden Brain’ on the 22 floor of the Academy of Sciences building, the luxurious Sky Lounge, one of the better fusion restaurants in Moscow, may be slightly difficult to find, but it is worth the hunt. Boasting the oldest panoramic terrace in the city, wherever guests are seated, they can enjoy 360 degree views over the river Moskva and the beautiful park of Sparrow Hills, with the main building of Moscow State University standing impressively on the skyline.
The haute-cuisine style menu is as diverse as it is delicious, featuring classic Russian dishes with luxury twists, such as Borsch with black caviar, and includes fresh seafood from Sky Lounge’s own aquarium. Following suite, whether it be a freshly made lemonade or a shot of Beluga vodka, the bar menu offers a selection of the best.
Appealing to a wealthy Russian clientele (and they need to be here), the restaurant is beginning to make a name for itself among the expat and international crowd. Sky Lounge also happens to be a favourite of Tom Cruise who apparently makes an appearance whenever he is in Moscow.
The subtle yet tasteful interior decor of Sky Lounge is also host to an impressive art collection, with the exhibition changing every few months. Add to this the impeccable service of the all English speaking staff, guests will want for very little, except an opportunity to return.
