One of the newest cafés in Beirut, located on the main drag of this once quiet street in Gemayzeh, One Stop is the pet project of local entrepreneur Alecco, and takes the form of a small, French-style bar/tabac. The food is average – it’s not really somewhere you’d choose come to eat – but the cakes and coffee make it worth ‘one stop’ if you find yourself in the neighbourhood. The interior is simple – all wooden furniture under maroon walls – but there’s a typically Lebanese addition to the Parisian tabac: two TVs showing for the most part Fashion TV. Fun and buzzy, it’s a great place for a short, sharp fix of caffeine.
