St. Regis
One of the first five-star hotels in the city, the St. Regis Beijing reopened in time for the Olympics after a multimillion-dollar face-lift. Owned by the Foreign Ministry, the St. Regis is the hotel of choice for diplomats working in the surrounding Embassies and diplomatic compounds. It is also conveniently located in the Central Business District and a short walk from Ritan Park. There are 258 guestrooms including 102 suites that benefit from the legendary St. Regis butler service. It is also unique in the capital for having a 6,000sqm garden, which is ideal for al fresco dining and a popular spot for cocktail parties in the warmer months. The Press Club Bar is reminiscent of a private New York club and you shouldn’t be surprised to see bigwigs wheeler-dealering here. Danieli’s is one of the finest Italian restaurants in Beijing and a good bet for a business lunch or a romantic dinner.
