Tang Contemp. Art
Tucked away in the maze of Dashanzi 798, the Tang Contemporary Art gallery is widely considered one of the best in the capital. Originally from Thailand, the gallery also has a branch in Hong Kong and represents some of China’s most established artists, such as Feng Zhengjie, Yan Lei, Yin Zhaoyang and Liu Xiaodong. Their solo and group shows tend to be highly conceptual and make for interesting cocktail party banter. A recent exhibition called ‘English Lounge’ featured the work of controversial British video artists Langlands & Bell and the Little Artists (John Cake and Darren Neave) who are known for their Lego reproductions of modern art icons.
