Taps
Istanbul’s first micro-brewery is about the only place in town to go if you’re a beer fanatic and have developed a dislike for the ubiquitous Efes pilsener. It brews seven (tasty) beers in total, including a flowery wheat beer and a complex award-winning ale. Located in the smart suburb of Bebek, it appeals to a youthful, upmarket crowd eager to fill the trendiest venues possible. Taps, happy to reciprocate, signals its fashionability with lots of stainless steel, exposed ventilation systems and diner-style booths. The relationship is consummated for both parties over the relatively pricey food and drink. Clearly someone’s doing something right as the place is packed most of the time.
