Tee-Eva’s
Unless a line of school kids are waiting patiently outside for snowballs (shaved ice with syrup), you might drive past Tee-Eva’s and think that the bright yellow stand is closed. When the sign says “Open,” however, just tap on the window and you’ll probably be greeted by the colourful Tee-Eva herself. She makes a killer Creole jambalaya and excellent red beans and rice. With no place to sit, however, Tee-Eva’s is strictly a take-away option for lunch. The real specialties are pralines and miniature pies (pecan, sweet potato, and cream cheese pecan). They’re sized just right to eat while you’re window shopping on Magazine Street.
