The Beaumont
Located just out of earshot of Oxford Street, The Beaumont is the first hotel from London’s hottest restaurant, Corbin and King. The building’s Art Deco design is prominent throughout its 73 rooms and suites, and the modern Edwardian aesthetic that is found throughout creates a timeless elegance for the hotel, quite an achievement given the recentness of its development. The beautiful marble bathrooms, complete with traditional D R Harris toiletries are a highlight for some. A bizarre, and wonderfully original, divergence from The Beaumont’s 1920s aesthetic is the controversial ROOM suite, created by British sculptor Antony Gormley. The expressionless steely Titan that crouches on the exterior houses a minimalist and almost ascetic two-room space, with oak-clad walls is a dark and mysterious space that has turned hotel rooms sculptural.
As The Beaumont is a Corbin & King property (their restaurants include The Wolseley, Colbert and the Delaunay) the dining experience at The Colony Grill is a classic take on the New York style grill and serves the classic all-day dining dishes to match. For cocktail lovers the American Bar is also open all day and has become extremely well regarded for its cocktails from the long marble bar.
