Hg2 : The Hedonist

The Bellagio

Originally built by Steve Wynn and now part of MGM/Mirage Resorts, The Bellagio is one of the few hotel in Las Vegas to carry a AAA five-diamond rating, and it’s a well-deserved designation. The Tuscan villa ambience runs like a subtle bass line through the resort. The lobby alone makes an indelible impression with a courtyard garden behind the registration desk, Sri Lankan marble floors, a chandelier bouquet of 3,000 brilliantly-coloured glass flowers (crafted by renowned glass sculptor Dale Chihuly), and a dazzling Italianate conservatory. Five of its concierges hold Les Clefs d’Or, the highest professional award given to a concierge (there are only 1,200 Les Clefs d’Or holders in the country), and the hotel also has some of the finest attractions and amenities under its roof: an opulent pool and spa; a fine art gallery; a small but stellar collection of shops like Tiffany & Co., Chanel, and Hermès; many of the city’s haute cuisine restaurants; access to the best golf course in the world; the most awe-inspiring Cirque du Soleil production; and an equally mesmerising fountain show that has become the symbol of new Las Vegas. All standard rooms (510-square-feet) are luxurious, but for an extra $30 a night you can guarantee one of the best views of the Strip, from the Eiffel Tower directly across the street at Paris Las Vegas to the fountain show below (an in-house TV channel pipes the synchronised music into your room so you get a private performance).
