Hg2 : The Hedonist

The Boathouse

Be warned, you won’t want to move once you park yourself on the timber deck which suspends over Station beach overlooking the tranquil Pittwater River – this is truly one of the most idyllic places to eat in Sydney. There’s almost too much to gaze at while you soak up the sunshine on the deck – ferries chugging into the wharf, seaplanes skidding over the surface of the water, or dads and kids cramming into tinnies for fishing trips. As for food, Head Chef Leo Bressan serves up some of Sydney’s best seafood – we can say with tried-and-tested authority that the beer-battered flathead fish and chips are exceptional, as are the green eggs and ham for brekkie – poached eggs, leg ham and heirloom tomatoes served atop crusty sourdough smeared with basil pesto.
