The Cloisters
One of the most peaceful, rejuvenating places in all of New York City, the Cloisters – set within lovely Fort Tryon Park, with a dramatic view of the Hudson River – are a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art that features the art and architecture of medieval Europe. Featuring invaluable tapestries, serene gardens, stained glass, manuscripts, and more – plus guest lectures and guided tours – this is a divine way to get away from the city madness for an afternoon.
