A traditional custom in Beirut and a sight not to be missed, is a walk down along the seafront Corniche  – amidst local families, roller-bladers, walkers and young, amorous couples getting away from the watchful eyes of their parents –  especially on weekend afternoons. The wide pavement that comprises the Corniche stretches from the St George’s Beach Club in Ain el Mreisseh all the way to the Pigeon Rocks.
