The Dutch
Found on the corner of SoHo’s Prince and Sullivan Streets, The Dutch takes its inspiration from the local cafés, neighbourhood bistros, roadside joints and other eateries that make up the diverse range of culinary offerings for eating in New York. Inside is a 50-seat restaurant as well as a bar and oyster room with room for 70 bums-on-seats, with tall windows that open onto the sidewalk making for a light, airy space in which to rest, relax and refuel.
The menu itself is headed up by chef/owner Andrew Carmellini, with American classics such as peel ‘n’ eat prawns and dry-aged bone-in NY strip mixed with neighbourhood faves such as rabbit pot pie with hard cider and black sea bass with arroz verde, citrus and achiote. And for those who’ve just stumbled out of a nearby club, a late-night menu is also available until 2am – perfect for soaking up the booze.
