Hg2 : The Hedonist

The Edison

The reinvented site of LA’s first power plant in the Higgins Building is visually high voltage, an expansive space characterised by its dramatic architecture – a mélange of gothic, deco, and industrial, including some of the century-old building’s original electrical equipment – and an equally high energy scene varying from thumping promoter nights to live cabaret performances. The hand-crafted drinks are prepared meticulously (the cost reflects the care) and there are even fountains flowing with old school absinthe to complete the steam-punk-meets-speakeasy ambiance. And make sure to dress to impress; the collared-shirt, no-sneakers code is rigidly enforced at the alleyway entrance.
