The Grilled Cheese
Turns out transplanting said shack to Toronto and evolving it to produce a molten sandwich isn’t so off-piste, either. The democratic snack is eaten on-the-go or at the picnic tables, and there’s a soup of the day to go with. The owner designed the place to look like his father’s wood cabin up north with a working fireplace, too, and because his mate Ronnie owns the pub opposite they’ll deliver your comfort food straight to your pint across the road.
There are ten different types of golden-grilled sandwich ($6-$10), all served with potato chips and pickle in a paper-lined basket. The Dill-icious is a sophisticated little number with dill Havarti, basil pesto, sundried tomato and onion. A host of homemade condiments on offer give this elevated classic an extra bit of sauce, too.
