The Ivy Los Angeles
We’d be remiss if we didn’t direct you toward The Ivy Los Angeles, a paparazzi-encased power dining institution, where mere mortals have a much better than average chance to dine near celebrities of the A- B- and C-list variety. Behind the darling white picket fence lies the ultrachic French patio where a million big movie deals have been politely signed and sealed. Its inner sanctum manages to be charming instead of obnoxious, with its country chintzy cuteness. Thankfully, The Ivy Los Angeles is not all-scene, no-substance. Married co-owners Richard Irving and Lynn von Kersting see to it that their stars are properly satiated. They aren’t reinventing the wheel with this menu, and they don’t need to. It’s all about creature comforts – great big salads, fried chicken, meatloaf, Cajun prime rib, and Irving’s exquisite desserts. Much has been made of his chocolate chip cookies.
