The Old Forester
Now 18 months old, The Old Forester is a great, sprawling behemoth of an English-style pub, complete with faux Victorian etched mirrors around its booth seating, dark wood high bar stools and tables, surrounded by walls adorned with prints of the hunt, horse brasses and other pieces of classic pub paraphernalia. There is live jazz nightly, friendly and efficient staff, a long menu of international pub grub standards and all major sporting events are screened on giant, wall-mounted flatscreens. There is evenrnan open fire with leather armchairs to sit and while away an afternoon with the papers over a pint or two or one of the 32 bottled beers. Popular with a predominantly thirty plus crowd of ex-pats and locals, the mezzanine level can also be booked out free of charge and is an ideal location for an informal private party.
