The Roxy Theater
‘Legendary’ doesn’t begin to do it justice: Neil Young played the 1973 opening and acts from Bruce Springsteen to Miles Davis to Pearl Jam to Amy Winehouse have hit the stage in the intervening years. A bit weathered by the passage of time (we like to believe it was always a little rough around the edges) the Roxy remains the Strip’s live music mainstay, as vibrant as it is venerated. The crowded scene is always colourful, whether seated in the booths, gyrating on the dance floor/mosh pit, or bellied up to the bar. And for a more intimate (and less amplified) experience, the On the Rox bar upstairs provides a more mellow escape.
