Much more than a place to come and drink – the Californian influenced dishes here are very good indeed – but The Table is listed here as it offers an outstanding and eclectic drinks list. The sangrias are particularly good and include Port & Merlot Sangria (young Merlot, Port infused in tangerine peel and tropical fruits), Honeydew Sangria and Rosé Sangria. Award-winning Californian wines such as Kendall Jackson, Parducci and Stone Cellars all perfectly match the fresh, light San Franciscan style of cooking.

The service, which is excellent, is complemented by a décor that is minimalism á la mode and is unlike anywhere else in the city – creamy drapes and plush purple velvet chairs are off-set against beautiful zig-zag tiling on the floor. This is the place to be, at least for now.
