With the opening of The Vincent—a tremendously likeable, all-day cafe and restaurant—Hackney’s army of freelancers, students, and other creative types have a brand new place to make their unofficial headquarters.
It helps that The Vincent has pedigree. Run by the team who previously oversaw The Sebright Arms, The Vincent is different in feel to its predecessor—airy and bright, not a low-lit pub haunt—but the atmosphere of cultivated, easy coolness (and the infamous cheeseburger recipe) have both made the transition.
In the mornings, settle in for a selection of pastries and locally roasted coffee blends (or during weekend brunch, indulge in avocado toast and other on-trend eats). In the evenings, opt for grain bowls—or that irresistible burger. And while it’s perfectly comfortable inside (think: high ceilings, huge glass panels, woven wicker light fixtures, and even a collection of tropical plants), on sunny days, the small platoon of picnic tables outside is where the vibes are.
