Tienda da Café
This is one of cafés in Bogotá which remains very much part of the local neighbourhood, every year artists from the area are invited to paint the walls of Tienda da Café according to a certain theme (such as ‘seduction’) and so the stories build over time. Somehow, the green-winged women and fawn-like creature create a bright and cheery effect whilst steering clear of tacky, and are dimly-lit inside the café. Food-wise, the best options are pie and coffee – the star produce on the menu. You can also get a full meal (the steaks are pretty good) and there’s a great wine cellar to compliment fare should you want something to wash it all down with. The café is popular with families, particularly on Sundays, when there are classes for children. Though if you don’t have kids, it’s probably better to go during the week.
