Toma roughly translates as ‘take that!’. Take what, you might ask. Well, what’s on offer here is a lively and varied menu, reflecting Californian and Mediterranean influences. The owner/chef is American, so of course, Sundays mean brunch. An added bonus is the low lighting, which, combined with the view of the Conde Duque cultural centre just across the street, make this a great venue for a romantic dinner for two.
It’s only small though, so best to book in advance, particularly if you want to squeeze in for the oversubscribed brunch. The restaurant has its faithful clients, made up of a mix of Americans and regular locals, and is a firm favourite in the neighbourhood.
