Tujague’s
Opened in 1856, Tujague’s has been serving food since the Civil War. Dining at this little restaurant, it’s possible to believe that nothing has changed for a century and a half. The menu is strictly prix fixe, and the tuxedo-clad waiters serve the six courses with an air of formality. The best dishes are the spicy shrimp rémoulade and the beef brisket with horseradish Creole sauce. Both these standouts can be ordered à la carte in the bar, where experienced bartenders mix classic cocktails at the city’s oldest stand-up bar.
