On London’s southwest outskirts is Twickenham, HQ of the Rugby Football Union and the venue for England’s most important matches. Most – from premiership to World Cup matches – are played Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and given its public school associations (Rugby was born at Rugby school), it’s often frequented by the royal princes. The main premiership teams in London are London Irish, London Wasps, NEC Harlequins and Saracens. Smaller games are played on their home grounds in and around London.
