U Zlateho Stromu
U Zlateho Stromu, located on the Royal Way, just a few yards from Charles Bridge, is one of the Prague bars right
on the tourist trail, and inevitably full of foreigners who have
stumbled in for some cheap nudity or dinner on the terrace outside. In many ways the consummate bar: open 24 hours, with a dance floor, a relaxing drinking area and pole dancers downstairs. Located on the Royal Way, just a few yards from Charles Bridge, right on the tourist trail, inevitably it is full of foreigners who have stumbled in for some cheap nudity or dinner on the terrace outside.
The 50kc entrance fee won’t break the bank for a quick look, and if pole dancing is not your cup of tea, there is always the subterranean bar. Beware of the prices – the Czechs appear to pay a third of what you might for a glass of beer. It’s all harmless and unthreatening, if slightly seedy, and offers a rather easy introduction to the ‘darker side’ for the uninitiated, if you haven’t frequented such an establishment before.
