One of Stockholm’s most authentic cake shops. Ensure you have a good look around, as you don’t want to miss the old-fashioned, doily-filled tea-house, or the adjoining room stuffed with glass cabinets, which in turn are crammed with every kind of chocolate you could wish for.
Classic Swedish pastries such as prinsesstarta – essentially a lot of cream and green marzipan – are sticky and delicious, while the familiar fruit cakes seen in so many cafés are outstanding. Come here for a traditional Scandinavian ambience and mouth-watering delicacies, but don’t expect the place to be anything other than rather antiquated and filled with families, younger locals who nostalgically yearn for childhood treats, or tourists who have wandered by and spied something they liked the look of. Trendy this is not.
