Vobla
Vobla takes its name from the Caspian roach, a fish that is best eaten dried as a beer snack. A surprisingly tasty snack, as it happens, and well worth a try. As you’d expect, there is a menu of beer snacks (and a long list of beers) supplemented by a fuller European menu with a Russian twist. Gastro pub-style surroundings make for an informal dinner, with cosy interiors and a warm, convivial vibe. The atmosphere really cranks up a notch or two during the weekends, with live music upstairs and a buzzing wine bar and club (available for private hire) filling up with bright young things downstairs. The staff is friendly, and in summer there’s a breezy terrace for al fresco drinking and dining. Although not centrally-located, this is one worth going the extra mile for.
