You don’t get more ridiculous than Wafi Mall. A little – well, a lot actually – of Vegas in Dubai, it is shaped like a pyramid and the entrances are flanked by sphinxes. For some inexplicable reason, it’s never, ever busy, but houses a huge range of well-stocked shops. The adjoining Khan Murjan souk is gob-smacking, with it’s huge stained glass windows and hundreds of small shops selling carpets, lamps and traditional (read – very, very strong) perfumes. Stores include: Adidas, Calvin Klein, Canali, Caran d’Ache, Cerruti, Chanel, Chopard, Desert Rose, D’squared, Dunhill, Ed Hardy, Escada, Etoile, Face Stockholm, Fat Face, Frette, Gant, Gerard Darel, Ginger & Lace, Graff, Jaeger, Joop!, Kenneth Cole, La Senza, Links, Lucky Brand Jeans, MAC, Mandaria Duck, Marks & Spencer, Missoni Sport, Mont Blanc, Nicole Farhi, Patek Phillippe, Penhaligon’s, Roberto Cavalli, Salam, Strenesse, Swarovski, The White Company, Topshop, Versace JC, Vertu, Villeroy & Boch, Vintage 55, and Von Dutch.
