Wasabi by Marimoto
Wasabi, among Mumbai’s priciest eateries, is still heralded as one of the best restaurants in India. A bright red staircase and a glass-walled lift leads to this super-chic restaurant with it’s Petr Weigel design and teppanyaki kitchen bar.
Reopening just 13 months after the terror attacks, it was the subcontinent’s only listed venue in the World’s Best Restaurants awards in 2010. So, if you have someone you really have to impress or an occasion that warrants the (frankly startling) prices, this is where you should head to.
The menu is the creation of Taj group head chef Hemant Oberoi and Masaharu Morimoto, of Nobu in New York, and incorporates dishes such as oyster foie gras and braised black cod. Foodie heaven.
