As you’d expect in a city surrounded by water, there’s no end of seriously good seafood on offer in Stockholm. That said, Wedholms Fisk is still in a league of it own. Decorated with plain wooden tables and soft grey walls, the interior is elegant, simple and quintessentially Swedish. The same could be said of the menu. Here the philosophy is that nothing should overshadow the quality of the fish. Many dishes feature fish that has simply been grilled, fried or poached, and is then served with some vegetable and maybe a little sauce on the side. Nothing fussy and nothing fancy. (Nothing cheap either, but that’s to be expected.) On a summer’s day you can sit outside and take in the views of the waterfront, but it’s a pleasure to visit at any time of year. If the dining room is busy, you can often find space in the bar, which has a separate menu.
