The Whitelaw hotel’s motto in Miami is ‘Clean sheets, hot water and stiff drinks’. If your intention is to get as drunk as you possibly can for free in a stylish lobby bar before you go out and party, then this is the place for you – the lobby bar serves free drinks for an hour to guests before they go out. The rooms are all in white and as spacious as you’d expect in an Art Deco building such as this.

Most of the staff are Hispanic in origin, apart from one female German bartender who serves the tastiest mojito in town, and are ultra-friendly, providing guests with free entrance to many of the clubs. The one drawback to the Whitelaw is that there is no pool, but for around $150 a night, nobody is complaining. Instead guests are given the best seats in the house to watch the homies, rappers, glamour models and other Miami lovers walk by.
