Worship St Whistling Shop
Hidden halfway down a Shoreditch side street, the Worship Street Whistling Shop is without doubt one of the finest drinking dens London has seen in years. Expertly concealed down a narrow stairway (almost too narrow after a drink or two) in the basement of an unassuming building, the bar here gets surprisingly busy, packed with in-the-know locals who come in search of seriously good drinks. As well as range of barrel and bottle aged liquors, this bar-cum-laboratory also uses an impressive array of equipment to create their signature drinks – including everything from rotary evaporators and sous vide to vacuum technology. There’s also incredible array of crafted cask infused gins, poured straight from barrel to glass, and an impressive range of whisky on offer alongside bespoke and classic cocktails. And if you find yourself in need of a little sustenance after all that drinking, there’s a great in-house restaurant set within stumbling distance of the bar.
As featured in bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana’s guide to the best bars in London.“
