Xoco
Xoco is undeniably one of the best places to eat in Bogotá if you like chocolate. The store itself is cool and minimalist, marked by an oversized, orange-coloured Xoco logo and large cabinets that display the myriad of sweet delights. Xoco chocolates are rounded squares with coloured geometrical patterns on one side; but all are handmade, and only natural ingredients are used. There’s no vegetable oil in the chocolates, either, only cocoa butter, and natural products are used instead of artificial flavours. The care and quality are apparent in the taste, which is wonderfully smooth and delicious. But Xoco truly stands out from other gourmet chocolate shops for its unusual flavours; you cannot leave without trying some of the more obscure varieties, such as curry, cardamom and pepper. A must-eat.
