Yoezer
A self-proclaimed ‘cave of hedonism’, the Yoezer wine bar has for over fifteen years set a new standard in bistro-pubs. Inspired by French cuisine and emboldened by the London gastropub revolution, the Jaffa establishment sought to combine the best of both worlds, creating a fusion of high-end gastronomy with the lively atmosphere of the city’s nightlife.
Hidden away in a winding side-alley, the bar inhabits a wonderfully preserved ottoman-era structure, characterized by its thick stonewalls and high arches. Minimal lighting, mostly emanating from tabletop candles, complements the dark wooden furnishings. The menu of rustic French-inspired cuisine is highlighted by some of the country’s most respected steak dishes, as well as a selection of the day’s seafood catch from the nearby port. Yoezer offers an extensive wine list, mainly from the Burgundy and Piedmont regions. For an added twist, make sure to try out their monthly full-moon meal, a perfect excuse for a superior feast.
