Zéro Zéro
If you could wear this Bastille bar, it would be a Ramones T-shirt. Zéro Zéro is ten years old but still kicking. Boys in leather jackets and girls with fringes flirt darkly, mainly outdoors, since it’s so darn small: a miniscule street-level drinking hole drawing an electro/indie crowd that ends up four-thick on Thursdays and Fridays. There’s not much to see (the decor hasn’t been refurbished in living memory), except for a blackboard bearing good news: an extensive cocktail list, including the Zéro Zéro, a whoop-ass pick-me-up of rum, ginger and lime. Happy hour is now advertised between 6.30pm and 8pm, but the way of the world is that you probably won’t find yourself here much before midnight.
