Zheti Kazyna
Zheti Kazyna, which means ‘seven treasures’, is certainly a treasure trove of a restaurant. With three different dining rooms – one decorated in Uzbek style, one in lavish Russo-European style and Japanese-Chinese fusion décor in the basement – the restaurant’s mission is to transport you to the origins of its different cuisines. And it succeeds, with some of the best Central Asian cuisine in town. Highly recommended is sitting in the Uzbek room, where a gorgeous blue-tiled kitchen dominates the space. Businessmen flock in their sharp-suited droves, most of them coming for the authentic experience (and the opportunity to eat sushi served on a naked woman downstairs). But don’t be put off, Zheti Kazyna is a truly civilised place, and is definitely a must for anyone passing through.
